The West LA Bird Club is excited to have filmmaker Maria Bertrand as our guest speaker this month. She will be screening her documentary, Finding Happy.
Finding Happy is an award winning documentary chronicling Maria's personal journey with a rescued one-day old sparrow she named Happy. Their bond sparked a profound transformation in her life and caused her to embark on a quest to discover the unique and life-changing connections between humans and animals. Finding Happy celebrates resilience, hope, and kindness encouraging us to listen deeply to the world around us and discover the connections that bring peace and purpose.
Maria was born and raised in Montreal Canada, she is half French Canadian and half Guyanese. She is an actor, writer, producer and director of film, commercials and other content. An avid animal lover, Maria's goal is to spread compassion and kindness through storytelling across various mediums.
We welcome all new members that will be joining in 2026 and guests.
